This melodious and transcendental setting of Ubi Caritas promises to be a delight for the performer and listener alike. The text of this piece is prescribed for singing during the Washing of the Feet on Maundy Thursday, but the beauty and simplicity of its message make it applicable in wide variety of contexts. It is especially well-disposed for usage in weddings.
This setting designed to be sung with a varying numbers of voices. It may be performed by a treble choir, but it may also be performed as a duet between a single soprano and a single mezzo-soprano or alto. This work may be performed with violin and organ as accompaniment, but it may also work with only a solo organ accompaniment. In the absence of a violin, the organist may solo out the marked passages on a flute or other appropriate solo color.
