This jubilant Eastertide motet fuses the seasonal Marian antiphon, Regina Caeli with the melismatic Pascal Alleluia. The ecstatic outbursts of “Alleluia” throughout the piece truly embody the joy of the Easter season. The fusion of contemporary harmonic language, baroque contrapuntal techniques, and medieval Gregorian melodies aptly embody the Augustinian phrase “ever ancient, ever new.”

N.B. This piece is one of four motets on the seasonal Marian antiphons for the Office of Compline. The other three motets represented in this series are Alma Redemptoris Mater, Ave Regina Caelorum, and Salve Regina. The setting of Alma Redemptoris Mater is published by Paraclete Press, whilst the other titles are published independently by the composer under the label of Suspirans Music.
